Facebook is getting back to its roots and has launched Facebook Campus, its new social networking platform. Facebook Campus is designed for college students to connect with their classmates, join groups, discover upcoming campus events, get updates from the school’s administration, and more.
It is a platform for students to chat with other students over shared interests from their clubs or any other campus group. With campuses shifting to partial or full-time remote learning, Facebook, which started as a college-only network, has returned to its roots in COVID times. FB Campus will help students make and maintain relationships, even if they’re away from their college.
To get connected to Facebook Campus, students need to provide their college email and graduation year. Other information is optional. Students can discover groups and events unique to their campus and connect with classmates who share similar interests.
At launch, Facebook Campus is available at around 30 colleges and universities across the U.S., but Facebook plans to expand over time.
