The Swedish sustainable food company, Oatly, the oat milk maker has got a funding boost of $200 Million in equity led by Blackstone Growth and well known celebrities Oprah Winfrey, Jay Z’s Roc Nation, Natalie Portman, and Howard Schultz, Ex-CEO Starbucks.
Oatly’s patented original oat milk and is a leader in the plant-based food space, with its products available in more than 50,000 locations in 20 countries. This capital infusion will fund the company’s overall growth plans – expansion in current markets and new production plants and related jobs in Europe, the United States and Asia.
The Oatly product range is gaining popularity with the growing community of health and environmentally conscious consumers worldwide. As a first, the company last year added a carbon footprint label to their products in Europe to create awareness amongst people to make informed choices and reduce the C02e footprint of the food industry.
