Ford Motor plans to layoff about 1,000 salaried jobs in North America as it tries to execute an $11 billion restructuring plan. The layoffs follow thousands of previous job cuts under the global restructuring begun two years ago, as it projects an operating loss this year.

Ford had approximately 190,000 workers worldwide, and currently has about 36,00 employees within the U.S.
