Formally called the ‘Hi, Speed’ event, Apple hosted its virtual event from Apple Park on October 13th, where the technology giant launched the iPhone 12 series, including the HomePod, and iPhone 12 accessories.
Here’s everything Apple announced at its ‘Hi, Speed’ iPhone event:
iPhone 12 – The real focus was on the four new iPhones: iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Powered by the A14 Bionic processor, which is the fastest chip in a smartphone, these phones will support 5G. All phones come with a new design, and Ceramic Shield, which is 4X tougher than a smartphone glass. Other features include the LiDAR Scanner for more realistic AR and a Pro camera system optimized for low light. For a start-to-finish cinematic experience, you can record 4K HDR video with Dolby Vision.
HomePod Mini – Apple’s $99 HomePod Mini, is a small, spherical HomePod that looks like a little Magic 8-Ball. HomePod Mini is an intelligent assistant powered by Siri, delivers unexpectedly big sound for a speaker of its size, and smart home control. The pod goes up for preorder on November 6.
Apple MagSafe Accessories – The accessories include new cases, wallets, and chargers designed for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. Built-in magnets allow for effortless attachment and faster wireless charging.
iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will go up for preorder at $799 and $999, respectively, from October 16 with a launch on October 23. The $699 iPhone 12 mini and $1,099 iPhone 12 Pro Max will go up for order on November 6, with deliveries starting on November 13.
