On September 15, Apple held its virtual event where it announced several new gadgets and services, including a new Apple Watch and two new iPad models.
Here is everything Apple announced at its September 2020 event:
Apple Watch Series 6 – The Apple Watch Series 6 is pitched to be the future of health on your wrist. The new Apple Watch has a similar design to previous-generation models but adds new colors including, a navy blue. New features include the blood oxygen app that will monitor users’ blood oxygen levels, and the ECG app will take an ECG anytime, anywhere. The apps will monitor the high and low heart rate and irregular heart rhythm and alert with a notification. This watch also offers the most wide-angled retina display.
The Apple Watch SE – The new and budget-friendly version of the Apple Watch called Apple Watch SE, was announced by Apple at the event. The watch will cost anywhere from $279 and comes in both cellular and Wi-Fi models. The Apple Watch SE supports new features like the Family Setup and Fall Detection and has the already-powerful last-generation S5 processor. You can use the Apple Watch without an iPhone.
The new 8th-generation iPad – Apple is coming out with its most affordable iPad – the iPad 8th Generation. With capabilities like the ease of use and versatility, the new iPad delivers a performance boost with the A12 Bionic chip that supports Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard. Games are also incredibly immersive, fluid, and detailed. Apple iPad will cost from $329, the same price as usual, and $299 for schools.
The new iPad Air – The new iPad Air 4 comes with the “next generation” Touch ID fingerprint sensor inside the tablet’s power button. With an edge-to-edge screen, iPad Air features a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display. The model does not support Face ID on the device at all. In comparison to the previous-generation iPad Air, the new device offers the Apple A14 Bionic processor, delivering a 40% CPU performance boost along with a 30% increase in graphic performance.
Apple Fitness+ – Apple is going to offer fitness services called Apple Fitness+. Offering guided workouts, while still showing information like heart rate, time, and more, it integrates with the Apple Watch workout app. Fitness+ is available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
Apple One service bundles – Apple has come out with the Apple One subscription service that allows you to bundle Apple’s services into one monthly payment. Apple One includes iCloud, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, and Apple News+.
