Some of the major layoffs announced during the week are –
AT&T (4700) – The carrier making sizable reductions in the workforce across executives, managers, and union-represented employees. Additionally, they’ll be eliminating more non-payroll workers.
Volvo Group (4100) – Plan to reduce the white-collar workforce globally during the second half of 2020. Of these around 15% are consultants and approximately 1,250 of these positions are in Sweden.
Jaguar Land Rover (1100) – The company is planning to reduce the number of contract-agency employees in its manufacturing plants.
Travis Perkins (2500) – Due to closure of around 165 branches, representing about 8% of its network, the company has to let go of the employees.
