The deal pairs Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Silversea with a land-based resort brand, widening the group’s reach into the roughly $2 trillion global vacation market. .
The strategic reasons for JV are:
- Offer more kinds of vacations. Royal Caribbean can connect its cruises and private destinations with Sandals’ adults-only resorts and Beaches’ family resorts.
- Reach more travelers. The companies plan to introduce guests to vacation options across both portfolios and broaden Sandals and Beaches’ distribution.
